HOMEWORK

Homework practice can and should be assigned to students for practice in accordance with the CPS homework guidelines below.


Minutes of homework expected to be assigned for practice and will be graded: 

“The Chicago School Reform Board of Education mandates that homework be regularly assigned to students. Our school policy states that homework is assigned daily. The homework assignment should be a sequence of well-planned, meaningful assignments for completion during out-of-class time. Board of Education Homework policy guidelines are as follows:minutes. Teachers will continue to provide feedback and grades.

 

Kindergarten 15 mins

Grades 1-3 30 minutes per day

Grades 4-6 45 minutes per day

Grades 7-8 90 minutes per day


PARENT COMMUNICATION

Newsletter to parents will outline basics on what subjects/ standards/major assignments students will be focused on throughout the year. Newsletters should be put out at least every two weeks by classroom teachers for PK-2nd, and by Pods for 3rd-8th.
